This photograph was taken in Valletta, Malta, in 2014.
Valletta, the capital city of Malta, is one of my favorite places to shoot in my home country. With its blend of old and new architecture and its vibrant, bustling streets, you can always find something worth capturing, no matter the weather.
One day, while out on a media assignment there, I passed a scene that immediately caught my eye. I was in a rush to get to the job, so I couldn't stop to take the photograph. On my way back, I saw the subjects again, but once more, time wasn't on my side. However, as soon as I reached the car, I told my colleagues I couldn't let it go -I had to go back for that shot. I headed back, and luckily, they were still there.
