Appleby Horse Fair

Most years I make the effort to travel through to Appleby for the annual horse fair. I rarely go down to the river to watch the horse washing as it can become very crowded. I much prefer wandering around on Fair Hill to try and capture the wonderful characters. This picture is the one that sums up the whole place to me.
